Women's and Children's Care
More than 2,400 babies are born at Virginia Baptist each year. Our family-centered program for parents-to-be includes classes on prepared childbirth and parenting as well as special sibling programs for brothers and sisters.
In addition to normal deliveries, we are the regional center for high-risk pregnancies and births. Virginia Baptist also boasts the only neonatal intensive care unit in the area.
We provide mothers with a comfortable atmosphere for their birthing experience and offer one of the most modern facilities in the Commonwealth. Each birthing room features cable TV, VCR, rocking chair, whirlpool tub, and other amenities. After giving birth, new mothers recuperate in our Mother/Baby Unit. The brightly decorated rooms provide a warm, relaxing, private atmosphere. Recent renovations have added new rooms that boast cable TV, DVD player, hairdryer, a comfortable rocking chair, and a private shower in each room.

Our pediatric unit serves sick children from birth to their teens. All rooms are private and furnished with sleeper sofas enabling parents to stay nearby. We understand that children may have fears about being in the hospital, and our experienced pediatric nursing staff works hard to ensure your child is comforted and comfortable.
